NORTHAMPTON COUNTY TAX
Millage Rate is 10.8

EARNED INCOME TAX (EIT):
The local Earned Income Tax is collected by Keystone Collections Group as of January 1, 2012. This tax is paid by all residents of the Township who are currently working. If your place of employment is not withholding this tax, please visit their web site at the: Keystone Collections Group

Keystone Collections Group has a phone line dedicated exclusively to taxpayer inquiries during the local earned income tax filing season which is 1-866-539-1100.

EIT Ordinance 2011-06

Beginning January 1st, 2007, all residents of Lower Mount Bethel Township will pay an additional earned income tax of .25% for the purposes of preserving open space.

The total Earned Income Tax including Open Space is as follows:

Easton School District - 1.25%
Breakdown:
.50% - school
.50% - township
.25% - open space

Bangor School District - 1.45%
Breakdown:
.70% - school
.50% - township
.25% - open space

LOCAL SERVICES TAX (LST)
Effective April 1, 2019, the Local Services Tax is collected by Keystone Collections Group. The Local Services Tax is $52 per person per year for individuals employed within Lower Mount Bethel Township.

A person may be exempt from this tax if:

  • they earn less than $12,000 per year.
  • they served in any war or armed conflict in which the United States was engaged and is honorably discharged or released under honorable circumstances from active service if, as a result of military service, the person is blind, paraplegic or a double or quadruple amputee or has a service-connected disability declared by the U.S. Veterans’ Administration.
  • they served as a member of a reserve component of the armed forces and is called to active duty at any time during the taxable year.
