Open Space Advisory Board

Purpose:
The Committee shall advise the Board on matters relating to the protection, conservation, management, promotion, acquisition and use of open space resources in the Township. Specifically, the Committee is tasked with developing an Open Space Plan ("Plan") for the Township as directed by the Board. The Committee shall outline conservation options in the plan, research land acquisition methods and sources of funding, establish a system to track ownership patterns, and assess conservation priorities. The plan shall include procedures for reviewing open space property interests considered for acquisition by the Township, for rating the relative desirability of interests in particular parcels of real estate, and for establishing the price the Township will pay. The Committee shall also review properties located in the Township and designate suitable properties for open space uses within the plan. Once the plan is implemented by the Board, the Committee shall evaluate the success of the plan and recommend changes as necessary to the Board.

Meeting Dates and Times:
The Lower Mount Bethel Township Open Space Advisory Board meets on the fourth Monday of the month starting at 6:30 p.m. on an as-needed basis at the Centerfield Building located at 6984 S. Delaware Drive. All interested parties may attend.

LMBT Open Space Plan

The Open Space Plan is "designed to help the township and the residents begin the process of preserving the township's outstanding natural features by focusing its effort on the properties that contain the features that the community feels provide Lower Mount Bethel Township with its special sense of place."
